Explore multi-modal and multi-layered biology

LSBM elucidates unexplained fundamental principles in life science and mechanisms of the development of cancer, metabolic syndrome, and immune disorders using high-resolution next-generation sequencer analysis and mass spectrometry technologies. LSBM has revealed chromatin structures, epigenetic enzyme complexes, and onco-metabolites (cancer-associated metabolites) involved in cancer and lifestyle-related diseases. In traditional nutritional science, carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids have been studied in an independent paradigm. However, the concept of nutritional science in diseases is about to be changed dramatically from recent studies. It has been found that carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids, which have been treated separately, are mutually complemented each other through intermediate metabolites (acetyl-CoA, ketone bodies, etc.) and affect the life systems. LSBM provides integrated analyses of multi-layered omics that incorporate genome, epigenome, transcriptome, proteome, and metabolome aiming for the following three. (1) Elucidation of life systems that explain life phenomena and disease onset (2) Elucidation of the transition of life systems induced by environmental changes (3) Development of treatment for human diseases from the perspective of "Neutriomics"
