Research project: Expression and reconstitution of functional membrane protein complexes by using baculoviral system
Brief introduction of the project:We are interested in the interaction of proteins which are involved in the regulation of cellular signal transduction. We have established a system of expressing functional foreign proteins on baculovirus extracellular particles (budded baculovirus, BV). Recently we succeeded reconstitution of functional complexes between G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and heterotrimeric G proteins on BV. Now we are trying to develop new systems to detect ligand-receptor interaction by using this BV expression system.
