I have investigated biological mechanisms of oxidation of lipids and lipoproteins induced by reactive oxygen species and free radicals using a chemical dynamics approach. The insights gained from these studies have led to the design of novel anti-atherosclerotic agents which are optimized using a combination of chemical synthesis and genomic analysis.
