Next-Generation Genome Editing Project

As represented by CRISPR/Cas9, recent fast development of genome editing technologies allows us to genetically engineer mammalian systems and other higher order organisms. Particularly, CRISPR/Cas9 enabled high-throughput genome-wide knock out of genes in mammalian systems.  Furthermore, it has a potential to regulate cellular functions beyond DNA editing through programmable recruiting of different functional molecules to specific DNA sequences (like epigenome editing and transcriptional control). Our Genome Editing Project team develops genetic circuits to realize various enhanced genome editing technologies and sequence analysis softwares to discover new genome editing enzymes from genomic resources.
